Is nursing still in your heart? Are you inspired by the idea of returning to a career you love? Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people within your community?

If you have ever considered returning to nursing, now is the time to do it.

Returning to nursing couldn’t be easier with fully funded programmes, a mentor to support you in clinical practice and financial support to help make returning easier. The Return to Practice Programme will help you to refresh your skills and become ready to nurse.

For those in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland interested in getting back into nursing, an open day is being held by Leicester’s Hospitals and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust on Saturday 14 May from 10am – 2pm in the clinical education centre at Glenfield Hospital.

The Return to Practice open day will give those interested the chance to ask questions about what the course entails, the support you will be given, and there will be the opportunity to meet representatives from both organisations to discuss the different types of routes back into nursing.

The two routes for people to return to nursing are the employment route, which is salaried or the placement route, which is non-salaried. General advice about these options will be available during the open day.

Jane Lawrie, practice learning lead at Leicester’s Hospitals, said: “We are holding our open day two days after International Nurses’ Day, which is held every year on 12 May to mark the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth and celebrate our profession.

“During our open day we will be on hand with lots of information about training options and current vacancies. Nursing is a fantastically rewarding job and we hope to encourage as many people as possible back into practice.”
