Our son who has autism

One of the very interesting things about running a Facebook page like AutismTalk (https://www.facebook.com/AutismTalk) is the sheer variety of topics our readers wish to discuss on all matters relating to ASD.

One area, however, which comes up on a very frequent basis is that of natural therapies for autism.

As a parent of a 7 year old with autism this is obviously of great interest to my wife and me.

So we were wondering if you would take part in the poll below telling us a bit more about the various natural therapies for autism you have used.  Even more useful would it be possible to share a bit more about these therapies in the comments box.  Inparticular how successful or otherwise those natural ASD therapies have been.

Thanks very much – my wife and I really appreciate you help!

  1. We started our 7 year old on a all natural supplement from a company called Dynamaxx and it has helped
Her so much it’s incredible. Her ability to focus on tasks, her sleep, her anxiety all have improved immensely. I love

  2. We started 2 ,5 years ago to do A.P.P by Tomatis in Belgium in Atlantis centar , they did and still doing mother voice and mozart music all filltred. When we started he was non verbal 3 words with meanig (3,5 y. old in that time), playing w other kids NO, tactile defenssivnes hyper, social skills pretty bad, lots of stereotype moving, behavioral problems, feeding issuse, he eat 2 type of food etc. Now 2,5 y. later he talks now  phsyological test shows that he is on hes age range , issuse is still concetration and articulation of some words, eating habits are better he eats more food (still not all but more then before), now he enjoys and calls other kids and grown ups to play w him.Doen t run in circels so much only when he is exremly aggigated, expressing his fellings better, tactille input is better.Overall it is like another kid.

  3. We used a Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Sugar free diet…..no caisin or sulphites either.  Did wonders!  It stimulated a lot of progress in our little guy!  He started regulating more, his sensory issues went down and started to be more a part of our world.  He started imitating, sign language, using joint attention and imaginative play.  It made a huge difference in our 2.5 year old autistic son 🙂
