Urology Week is an initiative of the European Association of Urology, which brings together national urological societies, urology practitioners, urology nurses and patient groups to create awareness of urological conditions among the general public.
The efforts of the 2014 campaign focus on creating awareness on the three most common urological cancers: kidney, prostate and bladder cancer. A cancer diagnosis has profound effects on patients’ lives and the lives of their loved ones. Work and social life are disrupted, and work, financial and even legal issues become pressing. It is important to create awareness about the different possibilities for treatment and the support available for patients.

I’m glad there is a week dedicated to this. There are a lot of different cancers to worry about. I would personally love to learn more about these cancers and the seriousness of them. It’s one of the biggest ways to be aware of what you can do to prevent them or know when you are at risk for having them. http://www.urobriz.com.au
I am so glad that this article is trying to make people more aware of urological cancers like prostate cancers. I have a friend who is battling prostate cancer and it is a tough fight. Cancer is a terrible thing and everyone should know how bad it is. Thank you for promoting the awareness of different types of cancers.

This was an interesting article about raising awareness about urology problems. I had no idea that there was an awareness week, My sister has been thinking of becoming a urologist. I will have to show this to her and see what she thinks.

My brother has had bladder cancer and I’m glad that they caught it in the early stages. He’s been under treatment for several months now, and the doctors have been real optimistic that he’ll recover. I sure hope we does, he’s done a lot of really good work and has helped a lot of people. He deserves to live and keep on living.

We hear about a lot of different cancers every single day, but I think you’re right that we don’t hear as much about the ones that affect our urological system, like our kidneys. It’s important to be aware and to be screened if you think you might be at risk. Even if you don’t think you’re at risk, still be screened. The earlier you catch cancer, the better chance you have of catching it and going into remission. http://www.fogcityurology.com
Cancer is really difficult to deal with. I remember losing my grandma to cancer when I was in high school. I think it’s extremely important to educate people and raise awareness about any type of cancer. As you pointed out, these are the most common urological cancers, it’s fairly easy to get checked for signs of cancer. I hope everybody takes the proper steps to make sure they are taken care of with problems like this.
