Tinnitus Awareness Week
This weekend sees that last two days of Tinnitus Awareness Week 2015. Last year we ran a survey with people within the Tinnitus Community and also those with out “ringing in the ears”. You can see the results here.
To show your support for the week it would be great if you could share the poster Tinnitus Awareness Week which was produced by British Tinnitus Association.
As you may know Tinnitus is the condition of noises heard in the head and/or ears. Affecting sleep and concentration; it can cause distress and can also lead to anxiety and depression. And at this time, there is no cure.
Anyone of any age can get tinnitus, including those who have been subjected to loud noise, whether through work or leisure pursuits. People with hearing loss experience tinnitus but many people with perfect hearing also have the condition. It can sometimes start for seemingly no reason but however it starts, tinnitus is very upsetting for those who experience it.
Vanessa, aged 22 from Reading told us: “In the first few weeks I experienced all kinds of noises. I heard humming, sirens, ringing, crickets, loud thumps and ear popping. It was a nightmare. I desperately avoided quiet rooms and I had to download an app of ‘natural sounds’ to help me sleep at night.”
David Stockdale, Chief Executive of the British Tinnitus Association shared: “Tinnitus Awareness Week gives us the chance to really make people aware of the condition and the effects it can have on those who experience it. We are always delighted by the support we get and hope 2015 is even more successful than previous years”.

ALL THANKS TO DR WILLIAMS FOR THE GREAT DEED HE HAVE DON FOR MY DAUGHTER My daughter suffered from a terrible tinnitus for more than 23 years which started after she turned 5 we all thought it will end but got even worse as days went by.
