With schools out across the UK and parents preparing for their holiday – what do kids themselves want from their big summer get away?
As the big summer getaway begins and airports and motorways start to fill up with holiday-hungry families, a new survey from Yas Island Abu Dhabi offers absolutely essential advice for the 82% of parents who say their children are the biggest influencing factor on their holiday.
Kids just want to get out and about, it seems, with the top three activities for children being waterparks (90%), travelling somewhere new (88%) and visiting beaches and theme parks (86%).
A massive 98% said the last person they’d want to see on their holiday were any of their teachers – school’s truly out for the summer. In fact, UK kids just want to spend some quality time with their Mum (75%) and Dad (59%).
This will be music to the ears of the 82% of parents who share their children’s interest in theme parks. The most popular destinations for adventurous children was somewhere hot and warm (31%).
While children just want to do something exciting (37%), 46% of UK parents said their top concern when planning their summer holiday was the cost.
