Jay Abatte loves music and choosing the perfect song is sometimes how he tells the world what he is feeling. Jay has autism and uses music as a form of expression, so when his classmates wanted to surprise him with a song, his special education teacher, Lori Blizzard, knew he would be thrilled. As Jay walked into the North Richland Hills Middle School cafeteria, his classmates belted out “YMCA.” Jay joined right in, and the impact of the moment lasted long after the music stopped.
