What is a Fibromyalgia flare up and how does it feel?

What do I feel when I am in a fibro flare? What do we mean when we talk about flares, anyway? While making this video, I am in a huge flare. I can tell you firsthand how I feel at the moment of recording. I don’t know if this flare is just brought on by my fibromyalgia or other issues like my Hashimoto’s or Raynaud’s, or simply the change in weather.

Flares – what external factors trigger your flares?

Quite a number of medical conditions have what are called flares. These include fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. And indeed any painful condition.

So what exactly is a flare? Simply put it is an exacerbation the symptoms of a chronic medical condition . Sometimes referred to as a flare-up or relapse, a it takes place when your symptoms temporarily get worse.




What interests us today is not the underlying condition but rather the external factors which trigger the flare.
