The Top 9 Signs That Your Infant May Have Autism. #6 Really Surprised Me!

Recent statistics show that 1 in 68 children are now being diagnosed with autism.

While diagnosis is on the rise, a child typically is not diagnosed by a professional until he or she is over two years old. However, there are signs that could indicate your child is on the spectrum as early as six months of age. Signs and symptoms can vary, as can the severity of the symptoms. Be sure to monitor your child’s development, and consult your doctor if anything concerns you. It’s important to note that autism in infants can be recognized by a lack of normal behavior, rather than the presence of strange behaviors.

Can ecstasy be used to treat autism? Scientists are preparing to study how the drug, also known as MDMA, may relieve social anxiety in high-functioning autistic adults, according to a recent review in press in the journal, Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry, where the research team laid out their plan to study the therapeutic effects of MDMA, which is known to increase energy, euphoria, emotional warmth and empathy toward others. We look at the story on the Lip News with Nik Zecevic and Jose Marcelino Ortiz.

Weighted Blankets for Children with Autism and Sensory Integration Needs

Sensory Goods 2

Sensory Goods 2

Welcome to our latest guest post. Owen Parker, father of two autistic children, tell us about weighted blankets and Sensory Goods the company he founded to manufacture them.

Owen shares “Sensory Goods is a company made just to meet the needs of people affected by developmental disorders. We provide an inventory of product designed to meet autism and sensory integration needs. We carry items like weighted and floor products, sensory swings, oral motors and more.

This company was formed by the owner to continue an effort him and his family had been working on since 2006. The effort was to not only bring awareness to autistic and sensory integration needs but also a therapeutic solution at an affordable price. The effort began in 2006 when the owner was informed that his two children were diagnosed with Autism. Just like everyone else, they had to find a way to help their children’s needs on a strict budget. So his family began to make therapy products for their children at home. They had found an affordable way to help with needs and realized so many more people could use the help. They started off with a hand full of products that quickly turned into an entire inventory in hopes to meet the demanding response.

Sensory Goods and its owner try to keep the same perspective to this day, meet autistic and
