I spent this morning doing some research and I noted that a number of people with fibro also suffer from migraines and I was wondering if this was true of other conditions as well.
To help I’d ask you assistance with two things. Could you take the poll below please. Then can you share a bit more in the comments section below!
We are interested in the following questions.
a) How often do you suffer from migraines? And for how long?
b) How do you treat your migraines?
c) Are you migraines connected with another medical condition?
Thanks very much in advance for your help.
I used to get them around 14-17 times a month. I started Nexplanon to continuously keep hormones in my system all the time because my menstrual cycle was a HUGE factor. I also started talking Topomax, as a preventative, and Magnesium, B6, B12, CoQ10, and Vitamin E. That has dropped my headache days down to about 10 a month. I also take Maxalt as a rescue med. On the days that I am unable to take my rescue med, ie the days I am at work or have to function without being drugged, I take 2 Aleve, and down a can of Mt. Dew, as well as rub peppermint oil on all pressure points.
I used to get them 1-2 times a week. I now use a preventive. Topomax 100 mg a day. Now I get about 1 per month or less.
MargoJMilne Thanks Margo
My neuro is a migraine specialist. She told me that people with MS are about twice as likely to have migraines as people without.
