Interesting question. I have a seizure disorder and I’ve definitely come across some discrimination. It’s an issue to an employer when you can’t come into work on a short term notice. This also isn’t something I disclose to employers right when getting hired.
Employers have a mentality where if there’s something wrong with you, there’s someone “normal” who can do the job without any problems. I would guess while a lot of employers don’t state it – they’d secretly be preferring to hire people without “issues.”
