Indeed over the weekend the previous Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, came out in support of assisted dying. As I have been told has Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa. They are opposed by the current Archbishop of Canterbury – Justin Welby.
In May last year we covered a number of the topics in a very interesting but controversial blog post entitled “Assisted Dying: should it be legalised? – Have your say!” which you can read here. In the blog video Heather Pratten, Official Patron of Dignity in Dying, explains her support for the right to die. While Mik Scarlet, Broadcaster and Journalist, who is against a change in the law explains his position.
Please do have a look at the blog and see what you think.
It would be great if you could share your views. To help kick start another discussion we have set up a poll below? Feel free to use the comments box to add anymore thoughts you may have on the subject.
Many thanks in advance!
no a lot of comment!!!
No why should I feel guilty for living? Do not say I will not because the fact is if those I love have to care for me (which they will then society says I am selfish)
