There is strong epidemiologic evidence that sunlight exposure is inversely related to the risk of multiple sclerosis. The association between low vitamin D and MS is well known, but this correlation may actually be the result of a 3rd factor: the sun! In this video, I review some of the scientific evidence for a potential role of ultraviolet radiation in autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
