Olympic Heptathlete Denise Lewis and Olympic Gymnast Nile Wilson caught up at official Team GB partner Haven’s Craig Tara Holiday Park to discuss key issues such as how Nile is feeling now the official countdown has begun, and how families alike can use the summer to inspire children to fulfill their sporting potential.

The school summer holidays are of course the greatest time for families to take part in new activities and a real opportunity for children to spend time trying something new or dedicating time to  developing a sporting passion. Starting gymnastics  at school, Olympic  Medalist Nile Wilson understands the importance of enjoying active family holidays as he did when he as a child and Denise Lewis makes sure she keeps up her active lifestyle with her four children.

National hero, Denise, was also selected as an Ambassador for the Haven and Team GB partnership due to her outstanding Olympic success and as importantly her family values. Haven puts families first, and as a mum of four, she’s well-placed to experience the thrills of action-packed coastal holidays at Haven.

Denise commented: “Seeing the fantastic new facilities has opened my eyes to all the activities we can do as a family on holiday – both indoors and outdoors. It is exciting to think of the sporting path someone might follow after trying something new on holiday, and I can’t wait to see these developments arrive in other parks around the country”

Haven has been developing its new adventure-filled concepts since last winter, with activities trialed at five different parks across the UK so far- Craig Tara in Scotland, Hafan y Mor in North Wales, Seashore and Hopton in Norfolk and Haggerston Castle in Northumberland. Holiday makers can experience everything from the exhilarating Extreme Jump – a 12 metre base jump (obviously with a body harness) – climbing walls, interactive VR experiences and flumes – including the first double constrictor slide in the UK!
