This video project started as a project for Autistic Pride Day 2014 when we women from around the globe came together to make ourselves known and build awareness for women on the spectrum. Since then more women have joined in to participate from around the world.
Too often women are overlooked because we are better able to “mask” our symptoms. We do not always present like boys do! The diagnostic criteria are based on boys, which has to change.
For so many of us, diagnosis came in our adulthood. It was a huge relief! It was like our whole lives finally made sense.
Yet, there are still so many girls and women who aren’t getting the answers they need. We need proper diagnosis and support!
