Fibromyalgia is a disorder that involves widespread musculoskeletal pain throughout the body, as well as chronic fatigue, sleep issues, memory problems and mood changes. There is no cure for fibromyalgia, but exercise has been shown to help improve symptoms.
Seated Marches
Begin seated near the front of a chair. Plant your feet on the floor. Sit tall with your spine long and your shoulders relaxed. Engage your core and lift your right knee up toward your chest, picking up your right foot. Try to keep the upper body still while moving the leg. Slowly lower and repeat on the left side.
Seated Oblique Twists
Begin seated with your spine tall and core engaged. You can hold your arms in front of you with your elbows bent. Rotate your upper body to one side as far as is comfortable, and then slowly return to the front. Rotate your upper body to the other side.
Opposite Arm and Leg Lifts Begin seated.
Lift your right arm in front of you while lifting your left leg up at the same time. Keep your arm and leg as straight as possible. Lower down slowly to the start position and repeat on the other side.
Arm Circles
From a seated position, circle your arms at your shoulder. Perform the arm circles in both directions. You can make the circles as big or as small as is comfortable.
