What single thing would improve the quality of your healthcare?

Yep – that is it.

As part of our on going discussion on healthcare and healthcare reform we are running some rolling research with our readers.

Today we would love to know what one thing, you feel, would improve the quality of your healthcare provision?

It would be great if you could share your thoughts in the comments box below. It would be great if you could mention if you had a chronic or acute medical condition (and what it is) as well as in which country you live.

For full disclosure I live in the UK, I’m a carer for a child on the autism spectrum and have hyperlipidemia. The one thing that would improve my healthcare would be being able to see a doctor without having to wait for a month. (oh and Sunday openings would be grand as well).

I am really looking forward to reading your comments.

  1. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and chronic back/neck pain.  I’d like to be able to see my doctor, every visit, rather than his PA.

  2. Sorry I have more than a “single” item, so I’ll be brief.
Age 52, male with MS in the Midwest of USA.
1.A doctor specialty “Health care coordinator” for
those with multiple health care issues.
    2.24/7 skype/phone doctor offices/rooms at pharmacies/hospitals/clinics/home/services/etc.
3.Graphs and charts that track you medical tests
over the years. (For example blood test
results that show you HDL and LDL levels over the years via a line graph chart,
that could quickly show patterns to you and your doctor.
4.Early cancer detection blood test via reading
    MicroRNAs. http://www.ted.com/talks/jorge_soto_the_future_of_early_cancer_detection

  3. The one thing that would improve the quality of healthcare provision os to be provided benefits without begging for it so that I can pay for dental care as my teeth are slowly crumbling due to MS medication and dry mouth. Receiving benefits would also enable me to have money for massages when my legs are so stiff I can hardly walk due to spasticity. Receiving benefits would also pay towards medication some of which I can’t afford.
