The first day law firms open their doors after their Christmas break has been dubbed ‘Divorce Day’ as the holiday season pushes relationships beyond breaking point.

Law firm Slater and Gordon expect divorces to spike on the first Monday of January, with many people having already made appointments for the first working week of 2016.

Long endured relationship issues can be magnified over the Christmas period, as fatigue and financial stress take their toll. Whilst for many, the New Year is simply a time to re-evaluate their life and resolve to make a change.
