The sad truth is that most of us have been affected by cancer directly or indirectly which is why it is so important to keep talking about it. A campaign to raise the awareness of Lung Cancer will see a nationwide tour, organised by the Roy Castle Foundation, aiming to help inform and educate those at risk from the disease. Lung Cancer is the most common cancer in the world. In the UK, around 41,500 new cases are diagnosed each year and it is the most common cause of cancer death in the UK, for both men and women.

While smoking is the biggest risk factor for contracting the disease, non-smokers are also at risk. Whilst it is known that smokers and ex-smokers have an increased risk of getting lung cancer and that most lung cancers are related to smoking, 10% of people with lung cancer have never smoked.

Here to discuss the myths surrounding the disease is Lorraine Dallas from the Roy Castle Foundation and Charles De Wet from Boehringer Ingelheim.
